Brooke's new haircut

Brooke has only had two haircuts in her 3 1/2 years, so we decided it was time for a cut on Saturday. It was getting pretty long and almost to her bottom. I loved her long hair, but knew it would be easier to manage if we cut off a lot. So she now has shoulder length hair. Brooke was good during the appointment and did not wiggle too much. She looks so grown up now.

Trip to the library

Brooke has been asking about the library, so today we took all three girls. It was Anna Grace's first visit to the library. Brooke and Audrey got to pick out three books. Anna had fun playing with the toys and puppets. Brooke even put on a puppet show for us.

Brooke loves to sing

Brooke has really gotten into singing lately. We listen to Christian music in our home so some of her favorites songs are by Chris Tomlin, Newsboys, and Jamie Grace.

Trey caught her singing "He Reigns" by Newsboys the other day. Here is the chorus to the song:

It’s all God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
It’s all God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns

She had all the words correct except instead of "He reigns" she says, "It rains." She is at such a fun age/stage right now.  She keeps us smiling and laughing most of the time.

New Stroller

I love consignment sales! Yesterday, I bought spring/summer clothes for the girls at one of our local sales. In addition, I saw the stroller below for $20. I couldn't pass up that deal.

As soon as we got home, we decided to take a short walk before dinner since it was so nice outside. Both girls enjoyed the ride in the new stroller.

Cookies for Christ Part 2

Trey had another cookies for Christ lesson on Sunday evening.  I thought he might skip a week since Audrey was not with us, but he had a specific lesson for Brooke.  He wanted to talk to Brooke about praising Jesus at all times.

So Trey started out by asking Brooke the following question, "Now why are we making cookies tonight?"  Brooke responded, "Because we ate the other cookies."  So I guess she hasn't quite caught on to the devotional part of this process.  Trey then said, "Yes, but we are making the cookies to praise who?"  Brooke responded correctly with, "Jesus."  Then Trey asked Brooke if she thought they were going to make cookies without Audrey. She said no. Trey told her that we still need to make the cookies and praise Jesus even when Audrey is not with us.

I forgot to take a picture of the finished product. This recipe made over 60 cookies!  So Trey and I both took some cookies to work this week.

Kids Expo

On Saturday, we attended the kids expo. It was a lot of fun. There were various bouncy houses and slides.  Plus various characters to meet and pose for pictures.

While I was helping Brooke on the slide, Trey took Anna Grace to the face painting.  This is her first official face painting.  It is a ladybug and it matches her shirt.

Brooke also wanted her face painted. She requested stars on both cheeks: one purple and one pink.

Brooke loved meeting Rapunzel. She had just watched Tangled that week. She told Rapunzel, "I watched your movie."  Rapunzel responded, "Did you like it?"  Brooke nodded yes and then said, "But there was a mean lady in it."

This is the mascot from a restaurant in town called Buffalo's.  We've only been there once as a family.  They have free kids meals on Sunday.

Brooke also got to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse.  She gave them both big hugs.  I am attending a conference in Orlando next month and we are possibly going to take the girls down and visit Disney World.  Last time we went, Brooke was only 20 months old. She had a great time, but doesn't really remember it.

Check-up

Anna Grace had her 1 year check up recently. She is almost the same size as Brooke at that age. She is exactly one pound more than Brooke's weight at 1 year of age.

Our doctor said Anna Grace is perfect. No problems or anything to worry about. Her ears look great too.

She is growing up so fast. It did not take her long at all to master walking. She loves to walk around the house. She can blow kisses now and loves to wave bye. We still give her a bottle in the morning, but the rest of her milk is given to her in sippy cups.
