It was a great week and nice to get away, even though, I did have to work some. The girls had a few meltdowns, but it definitely gets easier the older they get.
The girls loved the beach. I think the heat got to AG a few times. We had a tent, but it was hard to get the girls to stay in it. We went to the beach most mornings from 9-12. We also went a few nights after dinner.
The girls loved playing in the sand and water. Brooke did great in the water. She was good about not going out too far.
We decided to take the girls to a local nature center one morning. We went last year, but it was close to the closing time so we didn't have a lot of time. It was sprinkling when we first arrived, but started pouring by the time we reached the entrance. Luckily, there was a buding at the entrance with a few exhibits and gift shop. We waited about 30 minutes and finally started on the trail.
The girls has fun. We were getting close to the end of the trail when we were attacked by Mosquitos. We had already applied bug spray, but had to get it back out and reapply. After that incident, the nature center is going to be low on our to do list.
The girls also had a lot of fun at the pool. We would go late in the day after lunch or after dinner.
We ate in most nights, but we did go out to eat twice. We went to one of my favorites, AJ's, with my in-laws. The girls were pretty behaved and ate well. Our second night out we went to Bernie's. It was great as well.
Not the greatest picture of us, but it is so rare for us to be in a picture together. Trey is such a great father and so patient with our girls. I am so thankful for him and so love our family vacations. Looking forward to many more.
